Korea Website Institute has announced a free website certification event for business, educational and government organizations. Participating organizations are given such benefits as website certification test at no charge, 1-year use of the WEB QUAL logo, among others.

KWI Director, Dr. I. Barry Hong, states that the event is aimed at increasing the organizations' awareness of the importance of the website quality, thereby encouraging the organizations to improve their website.

Seven target areas have been chosen, including financial, shopping, entertainment, media, and leisure. Each week, two websites for one area will be evaluated to judge the website certifiability, and the certification results will be released both online (i.e., KWI website) and offline (daily newspapers).
